Check out some of the most frequently asked questions about becoming a Certified Cleaner with BabyQuip.
What is BabyQuip Cleaning?
BabyQuip Cleaning offers exceptional cleaning services for baby gear including car seats, strollers, high chairs and more. Our network of over 900 Quality Providers (independent contractors building a business on the BabyQuip Platform) deep clean and sanitize equipment for busy parents who don’t have the time or tools to do it themselves. They follow three important principles: using specific Products (always natural, non-toxic, baby-safe and parent-approved), following a thorough Process (cleaning top to bottom, 360 degrees and in each nook and cranny) and maintaining Proficiency (possess a deep understanding of baby gear and baby gear cleaning). We provide only the best customer service and consistently produce clean and spotless equipment.
BabyQuip Cleaning is an extension of BabyQuip—the #1 baby gear rental service in the US & Canada.
What is a Quality Provider?
Independent Quality Providers (QPs) are independent business owners who build successful baby gear services (cleaning and/or rentals) in their local market. You'll also see us refer to QPs as ‘cleaners’ throughout the site.) QPs are gig-economy moms, dads, retirees or best friend teams (just to name a few) who are helping families across the US and abroad by renting and cleaning baby gear!
Do I need to buy anything to launch my baby gear cleaning business?
You will need to invest in a handful of cleaning products and items (if you don't already have them), including a handheld steamer, a wet/dry vacuum and specific cleaning products. These are important to ensure you can properly clean baby equipment. We’ll give you a list of the items we recommend. But don’t worry—the investment is minimal!
Is there a fee to start?
Yes. There is a $200 fee to start. This fee covers administrative expenses to get you set up on the platform, your admin portal, your email and all of the training materials.
What types of items will I clean?
The most popular items include car seats and strollers. But you may clean any baby item your customer may request including high chairs, pack 'n plays, exersaucers and more!
Where do I clean?
You decide! You can offer any or all of the following services:
House calls: You clean on site at a customer’s location.
Customer drop off and pick up: The customer brings items to your location and returns to pick them up within 48 hours. You clean the gear at your location.
QP pick up and drop off: You pick up the items at the customer’s location, clean them at your location and return the items to the customer within 48 hours.
How much can I make?
You keep 67% of the cleaning fee and 80% of the delivery fees; plus you keep 100% of your tips!
On average, you will earn between $25 and $50 per hour.
Can I sign up if there are other Quality Providers in my area?
Yes! We believe there is demand for baby gear cleaning in every market and to capture that demand, like other platforms (such as AirBnB and Rover) we want to have providers everywhere to best serve customers. Quality Providers do not “own” any town, city or location. We expect collaboration among Quality Providers in an area and see Quality Providers teaming up on large orders (multi family cleaning events) and transferring orders to each other when necessary. We want you to meet for coffee, to get to know each other and to support each other.
Is this my own business?
As a Quality Provider, you are an independent business person. This means you get to build your own business and are not an employee of BabyQuip.
How will my performance be evaluated?
BabyQuip is the leading baby gear rental and cleaning platform and we pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service and excellent cleaning services. We expect exceptional service and professionalism from all QPs and that all QPs follow our core values of personalized customer service, reliability, responsiveness, friendliness and positive communications. We evaluate performance with a rating system and will work with you to keep your rating at its highest. Don’t worry, you’ll do great and we’ll make sure to support you!
What do I get from BabyQuip when I become a QP?
You get to be part of the largest baby gear services platform in the US and abroad. We have years of baby gear experience and can connect you with customers immediately. BabyQuip provides training, paid marketing, a national brand, a community of QPs to learn from, industry knowledge, ongoing support and much more! We love helping our QPs grow their businesses.
